The training taught how to utilize social media for activism, educational, and community purposes. During the five-day training, our teams from each partner country learned how to harness the power of social media to address the biggest social problems and challenges, what social influence means today, and how to build an engaged community.
The training was divided into three parts. In the ‘Starter Pack’ module, participants explored the roles of social media in communicating contemporary challenges, including the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the evolution of influencers. Various forms of online activism and essential resources for running activist campaigns were also presented.
In the ‘Build!’ session, we learned how to build a community on Instagram and Facebook, increase engagement, and plan content with consideration for spontaneous reactions to events.
In the ‘Act!’ module, the focus was on practices for conducting educational and consumer campaigns, strategies for reaching a broad audience, and techniques for attracting the attention of the media and politicians. Topics also included coping with burnout during activism.
The training combined theory with practice, aiming to equip our teams with the skills to effectively use social media to promote sustainable development and activism.

Campaign goals
Building awareness of the scale of the problem of food waste, especially in the “home” area.
Education on how the food industry works.
Education about alternative forms of food production, where where to find healthy, better quality and certified food.
Promotion of sustainable consumption patterns and actively support sustainable food supply chains.
The goal is also to change daily attitudes, habits related to food especially among young people – not wasting food as a new trend, part of my image.
FOOD DESERVES A RESPECT
“Food deserves a respect” – this beautiful slogan needs no comment, food deserves respect, just like another human being who may lack food, whether in Poland or elsewhere in the world. At the same time, this is not a new initiative and as research shows, food has been and continues to be wasted. So how do we make the slogan ‘Ford deserves a respect’ carry real value, draw attention to itself, convince people to change their attitudes and patterns? ‘Food deserves a respect’ and you, dear consumer, deserve a concrete dose of knowledge showing how to respect food in everyday life, how to avoid wasting it, what ways, tricks to use, what benefits this can bring to you, your environment, the world. The ‘Food Deserves a Respect’ campaign is an educational project in which we learn together, using concrete examples, how not to waste food in everyday life.
