Together with the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, we are conducting a study on food habits!

Together with the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, we are conducting a study on food habits as part of the Food Deserves Respect Campaign, aimed at exploring the issue of food waste in Poland.

The initiative includes conducting extensive survey research, the results of which are intendedto help identify the key causes of this phenomenon and to develop effective preventiveactions.

The research is carried out by two departments of the University: the Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition (Prof. Przemysław Kowalczewski) and the Economic Department of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań (Dr. Eng. Paulina Wiza-Augustyniak). Expertsinvolved in the project emphasize that food waste is a multi-dimensional problem – from social and economic to ecological aspects.

Every discarded food product is not only a financial loss but also a waste of resources such as water, energy, or human labor that were needed for its production.

This phenomenon can have many causes, such as excessive shopping, poor meal planning, improper storage of products, or a lack of awareness regarding expiration dates. However, the consequences are enormous: increased greenhouse gas emissions, overloaded landfills, and growing challenges related to food security.

To best understand the scale and sources of the problem, the study organizers warmlyencourage participation in the survey. Filling out the form takes a few minutes, and everyvoice is of great significance. Your opinions and experiences will help shape effectivesolutions to reduce food waste and protect the environment.
